Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI)

NCCI was established in 1952 and it is associated with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI). The Nicosia Chamber is represented at the CCCI through its elected representatives. Today over 1250 local and 270 international companies are registered to the Nicosia Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Besides, the town and district of NCCI also covers geographically the town and district of Kyrenia and the area of Morphou. The field of tourism and cultural heritage is one of the core priorities for NCCI. It is noteworthy that NCCI has the management of Nicosia Tourism Board, which is the regional board that promotes Nicosia district as a tourism destination (and also appoints the President of Tourism Board). Lastly, NCCI has a Vice President in the Board who is specially appointed for the tourism industry. The Vice President is also responsible for the «Tourism and Nicosia Development Committee».  The activity of the NCCI is multisided and is focusing on the following:  

  • active pursue of economic, social, cultural, and regional development of the city, as well as the district of Nicosia.
  • offering substantial services to its entrepreneur members and promoting solutions to local problems. 
  • attending to its traditional role in resolving the commensurate problems of the business community of Nicosia on industry, trade, services, and local administration issues. 
  • following the wider economic issues and initiating actions and advising to remedy situations to the local legislative body and public administration.  
  • capitalising the European programmes and funds to be able to utilising the structural and other aid for the benefit of its member. 

European Office of Cyprus (EOC)

 EOC is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation based in Nicosia, with representation offices in Brussels and Athens. It was co-founded in 2007 by 18 organisations from a wide spectrum of sectors and interests, such as academic institutions, local authorities, the banking and legal sector, as well as the cultural, tourism and youth sectors. Today, EOC counts 32 members (all the public and private universities of Cyprus, four public universities from Greece, the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus, a number of research institutes and VET centres, as well as organisations from the business and industry community in Cyprus). 

EOC provides inclusive information on EU legislation, advisory services on EU policies and programmes (grants and contracts) on education and training, research and innovation, as well as trans-national partnership opportunities for education, research and innovation projects. The EOC Brussels office collaborates with more than 250 regional representation offices and with European sectoral networks (European Regions for Innovation and Research Network - ERRIN, Informal Group of RTD Liaison Offices – IGLO, etc.) and with more than 140 universities through the Universities Informal Liaison Offices Network – UnILiON. In addition, EOC is member of the Enterprise Europe Network – Cyprus, providing integrated support services to Cypriot enterprises wanting to invest in entrepreneurship, knowledge, research, technology and innovation.  

Consorzio Materahub - Industrie culturali e creative (Materahub)

Materahub is a strategic design hub working to foster local development by promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, networking and cross-fertilisation. The experience of Materahub professional team is focused on culture and creative sector, cultural heritage, tourism, social innovation, innovation in education and enterprise and all those economic sectors which are relevant for the growth and wealth of the community.  These sectors have been supported in the last 10 years by tailored capacity building programs, research & development actions, innovation pilot projects based on cross-fertilisation between sectors (especially creative driven initiatives). Essentially, Materahub is working on, inter alia: 

  • Training for public and private bodies to stimulate change and innovation.
  • Coaching and tutoring for artists and creative industries (development of managerial and entrepreneurial skills).
  • Supporting Creative and Cultural operators to transform their projects into sustainable economic activities.
  • Promoting the cross-fertilisation of arts, culture and creativity with other sectors of society, community and economy.
  • Supporting Cultural Centres and Museum at regional level to connect and enter into EU networks to promote competencies, resources and people exchanges.
  • ICT applied to Cultural sector. 
  • SMEs consulting in the tourism sector and cultural economy.
  • Start-ups - sustainable development, environment and circular economy.

Danmar Computers SP Z.o.o. (Danmar)

Danmar Computers is a private company providing vocational training in the field of Information Technology and developing e-learning, mobile and customised ICT solutions. It deals with trainings, developing programs and training materials, counselling, designing web pages, web campaigns and e-learning systems. The technical staff has capability to develop any modern web and mobile applications, utilizing database technologies, web servers and application servers. That includes social and cloud services, both from client and server side.

Danmar Computers has extensive experience in developing customized e-solutions for various markets, including e-learning systems and OERs. Danmar Computers is an expert in the areas:

  • ICT related, chiefly responsible for the creation of digital tools, customised web pages, mobile applications, e-learning systems and web campaigns, storytelling, but also management platforms; 
  • vocational training, for teaching skills or upskilling individuals, groups and institutions on the basis of a specially tailored programs in the areas of ICT, business development, commerce and education;
  • support services, as an awareness raising instrument to help individuals understand the possibilities available on the market;
  • personal and professional development, aiming at recognising and validating skills to efficiently use them, both in private and professional environments;
  • providing training on the development of soft skills or transversal skills;
  • marketing and promotion, for recognisability and the facilitation of networking.

Organisation for Research, Education, Innovation and Development of the North Aegean Region (Eloris SA)

The organisation was founded in 1995 by the Government of the North Aegean Region together with the Regional Association of North Aegean Municipalities. Those two public bodies are the shareholders of the company until now. Eloris SA has a twofold scope, firstly, aims at the capacity building of the general population of the islands belonging to the North Aegean and secondly implement development projects and initiatives for these islands. The last five years is working closely with the Regional Government of the North Aegean Region and the Greek Ministry of Economics and Development in order to create a Destination Management/marketing Organisation for the islands of the Region.

The purpose of the company is: 

  •  the provision of continuing vocational training services;
  • the development of activities related to continuing vocational training (in particular surveys-studies, conferences, training seminars, training aids, participation in integrated programs, Community Initiatives);
  • the implementation of integrated actions to promote and support employment and social inclusion. 
  • designing and implementing social economy development actions and providing support services to those involved in this field.
